The big 3-0

I can't believe I'm 30! I used to think 30 was so old. I don't feel too old until I see highschoolers or realize my age group are now the ones with the "grown up" jobs...doctors, teachers, police, etc
On my actual birthday I took the kids swimming all day at Lynne's house and came back to get ready for a date with josh. He wanted to take me out to dinner and to shop for a watch. I've been wanting one for awhile now but wanted to try them on.
I didn't want to waste the 3 hours I had for our date at a restaurant so I chose Panda Express and off to cabazon we went. I found a gorgeous Nixon watch that I love!
The day after my birthday, Saturday, josh watched the kids ALL day so I could go with a few of my closest friends to the casino that is ten minutes from our house. They have an amazing pool that is open from 8-8. And we spent every single minute there enjoying the lazy river, each different pool, water slide and sun.
We were the first ones there at 8am and after I picked the perfect spot I threw my stuff down and jumped in the lazy river while everyone put on their sunscreen.
A day without kids or worries was AMAZING!
I floated in the lazy river until I was sick!  I was able to lay out and read my book, float in the pool, people watch and have so much fun with my friends.
The view from my spot!
I can not say how happy i am that shelley and i met!

Reading my book in the lazy river until I realized reading while spinning and floating in a circle isn't the best idea!

I LOVE laying out but I hardly did any of that that day, I couldn't pass up being in the water without kids!

There were some Crazy boys in the lazy river.  They were probably about 12 years old and we were all just floating along when i fell off my tube and one of them hopped on it! i thought maybe he didn't realize he just stole mine but soon found out from his snickering friend that infact he knew!   So i walked along while my friends floated and when he happened to fall out i jumped right in and that was that! It started like a 2 hour long war with the boys!!! They would sneak up on us and flip us out of our tubes!!! we would all be helping each other stay in and they would gang up on one of us and flip us again! it was funny at first but then we told them to stop and they wouldn't.  It took us quite awhile to get them to leave us alone.
And since we are all used to being busy all day with kids it was really hard to just sit still so we eventually got kind of bored...i mean we were perfectly happy being there but we had some energy to get out so we made some pretty fun obstacle courses...things like running around the lazy river, diving through tubes and jumping out others, not touching the ground for an entire lap, stupid stuff that had us laughing, playing truth or dare...

I am so content with where I am at in life at my age. Married with 4 kids. I have found my "people" in life-incredible best friends, school on the horizon. Couldn't ask for more!
